Bio:


MSc, PhD in marine ecology, sensory ecology, behavioural ecology and aquaculture.

Science project management. Principal investigator: design, fundraising, implementation and management of research projects - advanced laboratory and field experiments.
Ecology/Sensory and behavioural ecology, within (but not limited to) the early development of fishes; first feed, growth, habitat-use, -detection, -selection and -imprinting. The neuroanatomy and electrophysiology of the senses of aquatic animals. The ecology, behaviour and ecophysiology of cnidarians and their fish and crustacean symbionts.

Aquaculture: research, teaching and consultancy within (but not limited to) marine ornamentals. I am currently preparing & publishing a series of books on culture and ecology of marine ornamentals. Successful culture of several corals and coral reef fish species (anemonefishes, seahorses, gobies, and stony corals). Staff management, design, construction and maintenance of aquaculture facilities/aquariums.

Monitoring and assessments of aquatic ecosystems.

Teaching, lecturing and supervision in general ecology, sensory and behavioral ecology, ecophysiology, morphology and aquaculture. Science language - research paper preparation and publication.

Certified, experienced microscopy user: scanning and transmission electron microscopy and light microscopy.

Professional U/W- photographer. Collection of coral- and fish-images: approx. 10.000. Several images selected for the front page of international science publications.

DTP: Book, brochure and magazine design, layout, publishing and editorial work. Experienced user, including teaching/supervision, of Adobe Acrobat (full), Enfocus Pitstop, Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, ImageReady, the full office package and stat-software. User of GoLive, Dreamweaver and Front page.
