Peter Symes

Born in Copenhagen to parents of British and Scandinavian origin. Holds an M.Sc. in Biology and Media & Communications. Specialised in ecosystem theory and worked as a research assoicate and Ph.D. student at a number of Danish universities as well as a brief stint at the Danish Environmental Protection Agencies freshwater biology laboratory. Drifted into a full time career with the recreational scuba diving industry in the early 1990's.

Co-founded the Scandinavian Dive Magazine (a print magazine) and held the position as editor-in-chief until 2002. Founded and co-created X-Ray Magazine in 2003.

Dives both open circuit scuba and closed circuit rebreathers and photographs with both film and digital.
