My husband and I had planned to head to Hood Canal to dive this weekend, or Seattle area. I'm guessing that with all this rain, that the vis is horrible. Any reports? Thanks!

Hello, My name is Barry Shively I am the President of the West Florida Dive Club in the Pensacola Florida area. I am looking for an experienced U/W photographer to be a guest speaker at our next dive club meeting that can go over tips, techniques, and some pro-cons of different cameras, setups, etc. If you know of someone local or someone willing to travel/speak then we'd love to hear from them/you. My buddy and I want to go to Belize specifically to dive the Great Blue Hole. Airfare is so expensive that we can book a 7 day western Caribbean cruise with a port call in Belize (Carnival Glory) for less. The problem is that Carnival doesn't offer an excursion to the blue hole and will only be in Belize from 8AM until 5PM. Can anyone tell me how to arrange a dive trip to the blue hole that would fit into our cruise itinerary? We'd prefer to take a seaplane because the boat ride is so long and often rough.

Last Sunday the trail at Marineland was muddy. I hauled two sets of gear down the hill, only to find unfavorable dive conditions. After hauling the wagon back up the trail the tires were caked in mud. I decided to ride the wagon down a steep street to get mud from the tires. About halfway down I realized I was picking up too much speed. I tried to stop Fred Flintstone style, but rather then skid, my feet went under the tires, flipping me forward to the street. I tried to roll to avoid further injury, but the wagon on my feet stopped me from rolling. Even worse, I continued sliding about five feet. I have multiple abrasions on my heels, ankles, shins, hands, right forearm, elbow, bicep and shoulder. As soon as I stood up I knew I had broken my foot. I'll be in a cast for at least four weeks.
My application to Mensa was returned unopened.
