UFO or mysterious Russian Space Ship? What lurks in the Baltic?

Have the Ocean Explorer found another Stonehenge under water?
Press release  |  http://oceanexplorer.se/    |   02-06-2012
In June 2011 a mysterious formation appeared on the sonar while the diving company Ocean Explorer where searching for treasures in the Baltic. The image that suddenly appeared on the sonar was an anomaly. A 197 feet diameter cylinder shaped object at the depth of approximately 275 feet. (87 meter)

Media has been speculating about everything from UFOs to Russian space ships

—Peter Lindberg

Treasure seeker Peter Lindberg, Dennis Åsberg want to find out what’s there, and how it ended up in the Baltic Sea. When they found the image in June 2011 they had to put in on hold, because, quite frankly, these operations are costly.

"Since it might be nothing we can not afford spending funds just to have a look at it, even if it might be a 'new' Stonehenge standing on the bottom." was the initial reaction, but now they are ready to find out what’s really there.

This is what is said through Ocean Explorers press release:

“We need to know what we’ve found. Media has been speculating about everything from UFOs to Russian space ships. What we know at this point is its size and shape and we also know, based upon the sonar image, that there is a ridged tail going from or to the cylinder shaped anomaly of about 1 600 feet throughout the bottom of the sea. We cannot tell when it was placed in the Baltic Sea, if the object was dumped into the sea or if it’s a natural phenomenon.”

“We are determined to successfully complete our mission of finding out what’s at the bottom of the Baltic Sea. Because of the sea depth, it is a risky operation that requires a lot of planning, strategy and financial resources,”

But wait, there is more!
You can be part of the experience. For a price of course. A submarine expeditions to the disc anomaly is being discussed in a co-op with Silvercrest Submarines. Tickets are sold to the first time visiting the anomaly. That could be an interesting twist to this story. We will be following this development and also hope for a report for our readers.
