Plastic Pollution Coalition

The use of Plastic bottles, containers and plastic bags comes with a dear price, something we kind of know, but not really something we take in as being a problem. The beaches in tourist areas are cleaned up from debris and trash at least once a day, making the problem invisible to us. Jim Toomey, creator of Shermans Lagoon and a loved cartoonist among most divers has been an outspoken environmentalist for many years.

News reported from the Plastic Pollution Coalation websides credits cartoonist and environmentalist Jim Toomey, author of the internationally popular Sherman’s Lagoon comic, has been an essential support for PPC from the inception of our Coalition. He is now officially a ‘notable’ member of the organization.
Plastic Pollution Coalition is a global alliance of individuals, organizations and businesses working together to stop plastic pollution and its toxic impacts on humans, animals and the environment.
With its work, Plastic Pollution seeks to put plastic pollution at the forefront of global social, environmental and political discourse. To achieve that mission Plastic Pollution Coalition wants to end the global dependence on disposable plastic, the primary source of plastic pollution; and reduce the overall global plastic footprint for individuals, businesses and organizations;
Achieving these strategic goals requires collaboration on a global scale between individuals, organizations, businesses and policy-makers to raise awareness and improve understanding of the complex problem of plastic pollution; to create solutions; and to pursue these solutions relentlessly, with a sense of utmost urgency.
