Defining the scope

For starters it is, for a change, easier to define what we are not looking for

While every travel and underwater photo- or videographer does indeed need both cameras and lenses and .... erh...stuff, we do want to steer clear of the following.

• New camera bodies and lenses, and general photo equipment.
  1. General news are much better covered by numerous other portal, sites and blogs - and they do a better job than we ever can.
  2. There are too many new models.
  3. We need to be u/w and travel photography specific.

We can, and should, cover the occasional camera if it has some unusual u/w specific use or function such as, for example, being a novel watertight action camera.

In the same vein I do not even want to cover too many new u/w housings either. Except when there is something significant coming out, say the first housing for Sony A9.

• Avoid Another similar u/w housing
  1. If it is the first for a significant camera, then perhaps yes
  2. If it adds significant new features and functions not seen before, then yes
  3. Slight upgrades are not really all that interesting

What to include and not to

• Lenses
  1. Wetlenses
  2. If it is specifically designed with u/w photography in mind
  3. If it is does something of specific interest to u/w photograpers

I like the odd gadget that one would not otherwise find such as the recent Paralenz action camera, small fast back up drives, arms, connectors, travel bags and so on - and also software. In other words a curious mix of bits and pieces where possible. Take a look at the screenshots above.
