    It is not only the atmorphere we breath in that is in danger of CO2 emissions. To much carbon dioxide have also begun to alter the chemistry of the worlds oceans. Scientists are becoming increasingly worried about ocean acidification, a direct result of the increase in atmospheric CO2 levels.

    Instead of selling them of for scrap, New York subway cars get new home in the ocean. As a part of the NYC Transit's Artificial Reef Program the cars are stripped and cleaned, before they become a part of a reef.

    Swedish scientists have unearthed a skull of the most primitive four-legged creature in Earth's history. The skull is an exceptionally well-preserved braincase fossil of the species Ventastega curonica found in Latvia. Scientists hope this will help them better understand the evolution of fish to advanced animals that walk on land.

    Different conservation groups have the last couple of decades brought our attention to the destruction of the world’s tropical coral reefs. These reefs are visited by millions of tourists and are the livelihood for many more millions of people. However, some of the largest coral structures in the world are found in the cold and gloomy waters of the deep-sea. These are also under increasing threat.
